Emma Hudler is an artist & photographer. She graduated with a BFA in photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.
Making art and creating is something that Emma has done all of her life. This has afforded her the opportunity to work with many different mediums, both studio based practices, (she has minors in Jewelry making as well as Fashion Marketing & Management) as well as photographic ones.
Beyond photography, she draws, paints, embroiders, and enjoys exploring any fine art medium she can access. In her work, she seeks to highlight the beauty of the natural and mundane and its importance in our lives. She is passionate about finding ways to express this through new and challenging techniques.
As of late, she has worked on claiming photography as something deeply personal to her. Her most recent work All I Know is Now is a photo book which explores that in to the fullest. This book is the culmination of her college experience — both personal and photographic. It is dedicated to discovering her way of expression through photography and learning the importance of presence.
Her choices in composition and subject are informed by her encounters and reactions to the world in front of her. The meditation on the now, even though it can seem banal, is something that has shaped her experience greatly throughout school and life. This idea permeates through her work as she continues to explore and develop as an artist. Follow her on instagram at @sc0rptio or write her in the contact form below.
